Prince William and Kate Middleton spend most of their time residing at the lavish 1A apartment in Kensington Palace with their young children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

And along with the pristine décor, beautiful flower arrangements and chic patterned rugs, the four-storey apartment comes with a hidden panic room and an escape tunnel to help keep the family safe.

As reported by Global Citizen, it was revealed: “Kate and William’s royal apartment at Kensington Palace includes a panic room with an air filtration system, guarding against biological warfare, and an escape tunnel.” With William, 39, being second-in-line to the British throne and George third-in-line, the safety of the family is of paramount importance.
