Former Hamilton coach Frankie McAvoy has been relieved of his duties at English Championship club Preston North End.The 54-year-old was named interim boss at the Deepdale side earlier this year after ex-Accies boss Alex Neil left the club.He was awarded the job permanently but results have not lived up to expectations, McAvoy's Preston losing derby matches to Blackpool and most recently Blackburn, losing 1-0 on Saturday.Preston are languishing in lower mid-table, sat 18th in the 24-team league.McAvoy joined Hamilton in 2005 as an academy coach and later went on to become academy director.
