Premier League clubs are currently fearing a Christmas lockdown at their stadiums, even for supporters that have already been vaccinated.

With cases of the Omicron variant rising in the UK, the government could choose to impose fresh restrictions, starting with Covid passports at large events.This would mean unvaccinated fans would be unable to attend matches in the Premier League, with fears it could later be expanding to ban all fans from attending.This would see a return to Premier League matches being played behind closed doors, as they were for almost the entirety of the last season and a half.The Sun report that top flight clubs were briefed on the worsening situation on Friday and told to prepare for the likelihood of Plan B.
