Pitlochry High School attracted praise from the first minister when it won a top prize at Scotland’s Finest Woods Award, a scheme rewarding the efforts of staff and pupils to improve well-being through being outdoors.
The Crown Estate Scotland schools trophy run in conjunction with OWLS (Outdoor and Woodland Learning Scotland), previously the Forest Education Initiative Scotland, is for the school that best increases young people’s understanding and appreciation of the environmental, social and economic potential of trees, woodlands and forests.First Minister Nicola Sturgeon appeared on video, enthusiastically revealing Pitlochry High had won the trophy.
