Peter Kay has made an epic return to the stage after stepping away from the showbiz spotlight for five years. The beloved comedian, 48, took to the stage at Manchester Central Convention Complex on Good Friday (April 15) to perform his first Dance For Life show.It marks Kay's first tour since his record-breaking stand-up tour, The Tour That Doesn't Tour Tour...

Now On Tour, which came to a close in 2011.The comic hasn't performed a show since he cancelled a huge 14-month tour in 2017 due to "unforeseen family circumstances".New footage showed the star wearing a dazzling 80s outfit which included a multi-coloured retro headband, a record-print jacket and gold joggers. The fun-filled show saw the multi-talented Peter singing, dancing and DJing to the packed crowd at the start of the tour, which is raising money for Cancer Research UK.Peter also played on the DJ decks as archive clips of his hit Channel 4 sitcom, Max & Paddy's Road To Nowhere, appeared on the big screen. The Phoenix Nights star even started dancing and clapping with an ensemble of fellow dancers. As the night went on there were rave sections, incredible light shows and even pyrotechnics, according to MEN.On occasion, Peter would venture down from his DJ booth to have a dance on stage with the likes of a Bolton and Bury Zumba Gold club and to start a ‘love train’ during the O’Jays song of the same name.It also included well-received in-jokes for veteran Peter Kay fans, such as ‘just let me staple the vicar’ popping up during Sister Sledge’s We Are Family - part of his famous misheard song lyrics stand-up routine.Peter joined Instagram last month to promote his new tour.He made his hotly-anticipated return to the stage last August, when he appeared at a charity.
