I never saw a shark that large before."The family was enjoying a fishing trip on their boat on Good Friday (April 15) off the coast of Mandurah, south of Perth, when the shark appeared.It hung around for an hour, before sinking back into the depths.David told 9 News: "We had a big visitor from the deep come up, nice size white pointer."He tried to take a chunk out of the motor – we were mesmerised."Echoing his wife, David said he has never seen a shark of that size, let alone so close to his boat.The great white had tried to steal his son Shelby's catch but wasn't successful and so the family got to keep all the fish.David said: "We don't appreciate them until you see them up close and it is their playground."The shark was a "big majestic creature", he added, and seeing it was the best part of the Easter weekend.
