BBC Breakfast's Rachel Burden admits she got 'caught out' at airport in sandwich blunder
BBC Breakfast star Rachel Burden has opened up about the time she got "caught out" at an airport. The 47-year-old presenter was back on our screens on Friday (April 8) to wake up the nation alongside Charlie Stayt. They chatted to travel journalist Simon Calder about the ongoing significant delays at airports due to the amount of people going away over the Easter holidays.Families are hoping to go aboard during half-term but the extreme demand has led to major delays and flight cancellations.During the segment, Simon reminded viewers about the liquid rule when heading travelling aboard while holding up clear bag.He said: "As a former security guard at Gatwick Airport, don't forget the liquids rule."It's still in force and actually a lot of the problems could be eased if people were just more aware."Don't put huge bottles of shampoo or suncream in your hand baggage because then it will need hand searching and then everything comes up very quickly."Rachel went on to admit: "I was once caught out Simon for putting an egg mayo sandwich in my suitcase because that counted as liquid. What's that about?" before swiftly moving the conversation on to the travel industry. It comes less than 24 hours after BBC Breakfast fans hit out at the programme during Thursday's (April 7) episode. As guest and former male model Norman Scott bravely opened up about the assassination plot against him organised by his lover Liberal MP Jeremy Thorpe, presenter Rachel randomly paused the interview. She said: "At this point, and it seems like a strange point to say this pause, we just need to tell you the time.
