Vampire Weekend, Rilo Kiley, Bloc Party and more have been announced as performers at this year’s Just Like Heaven festival.The festival – which was spearheaded by Coachella and Day N Vegas organisers Goldenvoice – will return to Brookside at The Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA on Saturday, May 10.The line-up – which is known for its 2000s staple of indie-rock and pop trailblazers – also includes the likes of Empire Of The Sun, TV On The Radio, The Drums, Courtney Barnett, Toro y Moi, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, GROUPLOVE, Perfume Genius, The Sounds, Panda Bear, Beach Fossils, Peter Bjorn and John and more. Slowdive have also been announced to play at this year’s festival as special guests.Passes for the indie music bash are set to go on sale on Friday (January 31) at 11am PT (2pm ET and 7pm GMT) at JustLikeHeavenfest.com.

Chris Willman Senior Music Writer and Chief Music Critic The annual Just Like Heaven festival in Pasadena will feature a set by the newly reunited Rilo Kiley — the band’s first show since 2008 — with the group joining Vampire Weekend as co-headliners of the SoCal gathering May 10. Rilo Kiley last performed together in a headlining show at L.A.’s Greek Theatre on June 18, 2008, according to setlists.fm. In the intervening eight years, Jenny Lewis has enjoyed a successful solo career; she will be rejoined at Just Like Heaven — and other tour dates to follow — by bandmates Blake Sennett, Pierre De Reeder and Jason Boesel.

Panda Bear has released a new single, ‘Ferry Lady’, from his upcoming album ‘Sinister Grift’ – watch the Danny Perez-directed video below.The track follows ‘Defense’, out in October, in being released from the album before it comes out on February 28. It’s a mellow four-and-a-half minute number that sees the singer-songwriter and instrumentalist, real name Noah Lennox, dive into his trademark psychedelia for a blissful slice of pop.Lennox is best known for being a co-founder of the experimental indie band Animal Collective, but has also released six solo albums.

New Order, Weezer, Beach House, Justice and more have been announced as the headliners for Kilby Block Party 2025.The four-day music bash will be returning to its home at the Utah State Fairgrounds in Salt Lake City, Utah on May 15-18. Daft Punk’s upcoming book, After Daft, have been announced – including Franz Ferdinand, CSS, Disclosure, Porter Robinson and over 50 others.The upcoming release was first announced back in 2021 and is set to provide an insight into the dance duo’s legacy, and changing landscape of the electronic music scene.Featuring commentary from some of the most highly acclaimed artists in recent years, the book will feature over 100 guest contributors, with scores of new names revealed this week.Disclosure, Franz Ferdinand and Porter Robinson have already added their input, as well as Annie Mac, Tiga, Dillon Francis and A-Trak. Animal Collective have announced the reissue of their debut album, ‘Spirit They’re Gone, Spirit They’ve Vanished’ – featuring brand-new artwork and a host of previously unreleased tracks.Announced today (March 13), the reissue will arrive on May 12 and features remastered versions of the 10 original tracks. In addition, the band are also set to release a new EP alongside the album – containing five previously-unreleased songs.Originally released in 2000, ‘Spirit They’re Gone, Spirit They’ve Vanished’ was initially a collaborative project between bandmates Avey Tare and Panda Bear.

Panda Bear has revealed he’s teamed up with Spacemen 3′s Sonic Boom on a new album called ‘Resist’.The album will be released on August 12 and has been previewed today (July 14) with a Troggs-sampling new single, ‘Go On’. Producers Alan Braxe and DJ Falcon have teamed up for new collaborative project Braxe + Falcon, announcing that they will release an EP – titled ‘Step By Step’ – though new Domino imprint Smugglers Way later this year. The title track, featuring Animal Collective’s Panda Bear, and another track called ‘Creative Source’ are both out now.“In the early 2000s we each released our first respective music projects in collaboration with Thomas Bangatler on his Roulé label”, say Braxe and Falcon – aka cousins Alain and Stéphane Quême.
