Car Seat Headrest have announced a new “rock opera” album called ‘The Scholars’. Check out the lead single ‘Gethsemane’ below.Set for release on May 2 via Matador, it is the first new studio album from the American rock band in five years, following on from 2020’s ‘Making A Door Less Open’.According to the band, the LP marks a new spiritual era for the members, and the music is set at the fictional college campus Parnassus University.

New Order, Weezer, Beach House, Justice and more have been announced as the headliners for Kilby Block Party 2025.The four-day music bash will be returning to its home at the Utah State Fairgrounds in Salt Lake City, Utah on May 15-18. Passes for the music festival are set to go on sale tomorrow (December 4) at 10am MST (12pm ET, 5pm GMT).

Car Seat Headrest has announced that he’s cancelled his upcoming US tour and performances at the When We Were Young festival due to health issues.The band, fronted by Will Toledo, were set to begin a tour tomorrow (October 20) in Pioneertown, California which was set to run for the next week and incorporate three sets at Las Vegas’ When We Were Young.Taking to Twitter, Toledo revealed that ongoing health issues have forced the cancellation of the tour. He wrote: “After another month of struggling to regain my health, I am currently forced to face the fact that my body lacks the basic levels of functionality necessary to leave the house most days, let alone embark on a tour.“As a result, we are unfortunately forced to pull out of the When We Were Young festival dates, and cancel our upcoming California tour.

Car Seat Headrest’s Will Toledo has opened up about performing in a new suit as his furry alter-ego Mortis Jackrabbit earlier this year.In March, the frontman performed in a new fur suit for the first time at New York’s Brooklyn Steel, because he “wanted more furries in the crowd”.Furries are a community of people who enjoy wearing elaborate animal costumes. They enjoy making friends with other furries, attending conventions, making art and sometimes sex is part of the equation, but not always.Speaking in a new interview with Brooklyn Magazine, Toledo spoke about his decision to don the suit on the band’s Masquerade Tour and opened up about his love for the furry community.“It was very impromptu,” he said of his Brooklyn Steel performance.

Car Seat Headrest fans on Twitter.The incident that sparked the social media situation began over a decade ago, when Car Seat Headrest mastermind Will Toledo released his album ‘4’, including a song called ‘The Ghost Of Bob Saget’, a reference to Asscastle, a comic created by a friend of Toledo’s.In relation to the comic, which had Saget’s ghost as a character, Toledo sang in the song:  “Last night, I was haunted by the ghost of Bob Saget/ He said ‘You’re more or less than just a f***t’ / I put on a dress and followed him to heaven / But first, I gave him a blowjob outside the 7-Eleven.”Over the past few days, the song has resurfaced online and fans have been discussing it on Twitter.
