The hurricane resulted in an estimate of 221 deaths and $78.7 billion in damages.Now, a new compilation album ‘We Love It Here’ has been released to raise funds for Lamplight AVL – a nonprofit that supports those in Asheville’s arts community impacted by the disaster.

Animal Collective have announced the reissue of their debut album, ‘Spirit They’re Gone, Spirit They’ve Vanished’ – featuring brand-new artwork and a host of previously unreleased tracks.Announced today (March 13), the reissue will arrive on May 12 and features remastered versions of the 10 original tracks. In addition, the band are also set to release a new EP alongside the album – containing five previously-unreleased songs.Originally released in 2000, ‘Spirit They’re Gone, Spirit They’ve Vanished’ was initially a collaborative project between bandmates Avey Tare and Panda Bear.

Animal Collective have cancelled their forthcoming UK/European tour citing economic difficulties.The band were due to kick off their jaunt in Ireland on November 2 with further dates in Brighton, Bristol, Manchester, Glasgow and London before moving on to Europe.But this evening (October 10) the band issued a lengthy statement confirming that all tour dates have been cancelled and explained their reasons for doing so. Animal Collective have cancelled the remaining shows on their current US tour after Avey Tare and Deakin tested positive for COVID-19.The band are out on the road in support of their 11th studio album ‘Time Skiffs’, which came out back in February.As Pitchfork reports, Animal Collective recently scrapped three scheduled gigs on the West Coast due to an unnamed member of their touring party contracting COVID. Today (May 26), the group issued a statement to explain that the virus had “hit us and hit us hard”.“Both Dave [Portner, aka Avey Tare] and Josh [Dibb, aka Deakin] (each vaccinated and boosted) got very sick and are unable to play shows right now,” the message read.“Continuing to tour at this moment would be harmful to their health and could contribute to longer term difficulties.
