A paramedic dad has decided to spend Father’s Day alone to protect his wife and young children from the dangers of coronavirus.
Andrew Cox is keeping his distance as his wife Shelley, 35, has Crohn’s disease, which puts her in a high-risk category and makes living as a family too risky at the moment.
He is one of 162 London Ambulance Service staff to have moved into temporary accommodation since the start of lockdown so they could stay on the frontline while protecting loved ones.
The couple and their children Phoebe, six, and George, two, are postponing Father’s Day until they can all be together again.
