A mum says her daughter's dream of studying abroad has been made 'impossible' by Brexit rules and red tape. Niamh Francis-King, 21, is still waiting to be granted a visa despite being due to start studying at the University of Barcelona on September 30.
As they wait to find out whether they'll have the paperwork they need in time, mum Fay Bird says she is in a state of "utter disbelief".
The 50-year-old fitness instructor, from Dinnington, South Yorkshire, said: "I could track a DHL parcel better than this visa, it's a nightmare." Niamh is in her third year at Newcastle University where she is studying Spanish, Portuguese, and Catalan.
