North Korea has '60 nuclear weapons and more than 1 million soldiers primed for war'

North Korea has up to 60 nuclear warheads and 1.2 million soldiers ready for war, a report has warned. The Institute for National Strategic Studies, part of the US' National Defence University, made the stark remarks in its Strategic Assessment 2020.Kim Jong-un’s regime is believed to have between 15-60 nuclear warheads and around 650 ballistic missiles.

These could strike cities in South Korea, along with Japan and eastern China. The report warns it “has also tested intercontinental ballistic missiles that could be capable of striking the United States”, South Korean news agency Yonhap reports.
