Last Friday (March 11) a grand jury confirmed he would not face any criminal charges following a police investigation, though the civil cases remain active.The Houston Texans quarterback quickly became the subject of a bidding war amongst several outfits.
And as he has a no-trade clause with his current side, he has been able to pick the highest offer, which comes from the Cleveland Browns.According to journalists Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero, Watson has landed himself a fully guaranteed five-year contract worth a total of $230m (£170m).
That is $80m (£61m) more than the previous record for the highest guarantee given to an NFL player.His agent, David Mulugheta, was able to broker the deal as the Browns are desperate for a new QB.
