The next phase of a £1bn canalside transformation is set to go ahead with 182 more apartments, seven townhouses and some new office space approved.Salford's Middlewood Locks, where hundreds of homes have already been built and 546 more are currently under construction, will now see a third phase of development which includes an extended plaza and new park.Two new blocks, 10 and 12 storeys in height, will be built alongside seven townhouses and 970 sqm of commercial space within a two storey building.The 25-acre "urban neighbourhood", which is centred around the Manchester, Bolton and Bury canal to the east of Oldfield Road in Salford could have more than 2,000 new dwellings built by the time the development is complete.Salford City.
