By Jill Goldsmith Jeff Shell, the CEO of NBCUniversal, said on Thursday that he has tested positive for COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus.
As infections touch celebrities to playwrights to sports legends and politicians, Shell is the first CEO of a major media and entertainment group to be diagnosed after Universal Music Group chief executive Lucian Grange tested positive earlier this month.
Shell made the announcement in an email to employees in which he stressed that people will have to work from home “for some time” in order to limit the spread of the virus.
