A mum and dad are calling on all expectant parents to learn about the danger of group B Strep after it almost killed their newborn son twice.

Little Ryan Wood was just six hours old when he became desperately ill in February 2016, having been born five weeks early. His mum Carianne Pike, from Glamorgan, described the moment his body went blue and lifeless as the scariest and most horrific moment of her life.

She told Mirror Online: “From being so elated with my new newborn son, I was then thrown into the worst nightmare imaginable.  "My mum had just been to visit me with my eight-year-old daugher Lola, and Ryan seemed very sleepy. "He wouldn’t feed and I just felt he wasn’t right so I ran to find a nurse.
