mum and her autistic daughter were "left stranded" after RAC said they couldn't get to her broken down car for six hours. Katrina McCaig and her child were only able to get home thanks to the generosity of a friend who was able to come and pick them up, according to Teesside Live.
The 41-year-old, from Middlesborough, expressed "great anger" at having to abandon her vehicle in Blackhall as well as being "forced to fork out" £50 for an alternative recovery service.
She said: "I'm very angry that I had to leave my car there overnight, and I'm extremely lucky that I found a friend willing to pick us up and bring us home."I don't know what would have happened otherwise - because it's not possible to get on public transport with my daughter.
