Mohamed Salah will be included in Egypt's preliminary squad for the Summer Olympics in Tokyo - although national team chiefs are yet to contact Liverpool.
The Reds forward will be named as one of three overage players who will travel to Japan with the Under-23 squad in July. This summer's Olympics - which have been postponed a year due to the coronavirus pandemic - will take place between Friday 23 July and Sunday 8 August.
Meanwhile, the 2021/22 Premier League season is due to kick off on Saturday 7 August, meaning Salah could miss Liverpool's pre-season and at least one top-flight fixture.
