Michael Barrymore has decided not to speak out after a man was arrested in connection with the murder and indecent assault of a man at his pool party.
Essex Police have confirmed that a 50-year-old man, whose name was not released, was arrested in Cheshire in connection with 31-year-old Stuart Lubbock's 2001 death.
Mr Lubbock was found unconscious in an outdoor swimming pool at Barrymore's £2million mansion in Essex on March 31, 2001, after being seriously sexually assaulted, the police believe.
He was taken to hospital, where he later died, said Essex Police. When asked about the arrest, a spokesperson on behalf of Mr Barrymore, 68, said that at this stage of the investigation it wouldn't be appropriate to pass comment.
