Essex Police said on Wednesday morning that detectives investigating the murder of Mr Lubbock have arrested a 50-year-old man in Cheshire.
Essex Police said the arrest has been made in connection with the indecent assault and murder of the 31-year-old, who died following a party at the home of entertainer Michael Barrymore in March 2001.
Stuart Lubbock’s father Terry, 76, told the PA news agency: "There is just so much going on in my head. I can’t get my head around it.
