A mass coronavirus outbreak has struck Sandhurst after recruits broke social distancing rules to throw a party, reports claim.

Fifty officer cadets are said to have tested positive for the virus at the prestigious Royal Military Academy where Prince William and Harry and Winston Churchill were trained.

According to the Daily Mail, the outbreak is thought to have stemmed from recruits dining and socialising together in breach of the rules.

Around 50 recruits reportedly held a party on the grounds of the Old College where they got boozy, ignored social distancing rules and smashed a television.
