The Masked Dancer has been dropped from ITV's schedule for 2023 after just two hit-series.Television buffs are huge fans of Masked Dancer, with masses tuning in to the past two series that saw celebrities concealing their identities while performing dance routines on-stage.The show, which is hosted by Joel Dommet and with the same panellists that judge on Masked Singer, with the added addition of Oti Mabuse, is set to be axed from ITV this coming September, with the broadcaster airing the rugby instead.READ NEXT: Masked Singer sees Jacket Potato unmasked as Bon Jovi legend in double eliminationMailOnline has reported that an insider has spoken to The Sun where they revealed: "Instead [of airing Masked Dancer in September], ITV are showing the Rugby World Cup over the autumn."The insider added that it could just be a hiatus, with the show not ruled out for 2024, adding that all is not lost as ITV "have plans" for exciting specials like "The Masked Singer I'm A Celeb show"Daily Star reached out to ITV for comment with them confirming that it has been "rested" for 2023 while they broadcast the rugby.They said: "The Masked Dancer is being rested for 2023 but The Masked franchise remains a big part of our entertainment schedule," before confirming the above mentioned "specials".The last series of Masked Dancer saw Bruno Tonioli unmasked as Pearly King, while Heather Morris was unveiled as Scissors and won the show.And in series one Bonnie Langford was unmasked as Squirrel, while Louis Smith won the show as Carwash.This comes as The Masked Singer continues to keep viewers gripped as their third series approaches the grand finale this coming weekend.Last weekend saw a shocking double elimination where the remaining five.
