Manchester United defender Marcus Rojo is a colourful character to say the least. The enigmatic Argentine, who turns 32 on Sunday, was more synonymous with speculative long-range shots and two-footed tackles than his ability to do the defensive dog-work for the Red Devils.
And it isn't just on the pitch that he's proven himself to be a bit of a maverick, as a number of off-field antics have also seen him hit the headlines throughout a checkered career.Having broken through with Estudiantes back in his homeland, Rojo spent time at Spartak Moscow and Sporting Lisbon before sealing a £16million move to Manchester on the back of a string of impressive displays for Argentina at the 2014 World Cup.
However, right from the off at Old Trafford, Rojo found himself caught up in controversy. The defender declared it was a "dream" to join United at the time, but he was made to wait for his debut following claims that a row with a neighbour was holding up his visa.
Officials conducted a criminal investigation regarding the issue and Rojo was later cleared of an alleged bottle attack in an incident which took place in his home city of La Plata, 40 miles south-east of the Argentinian capital Buenos Aires, back in 2010.That wasn't the only drama involving his family back in South America either.
