Manchester United. The former player moved to Old Trafford from Brondby in the Danish Superliga in 1991 - but even before then, he was putting the goals away for First Division side Hvidovre.

In 1985 during his second season with the club, the goalkeeper remarkably netted six goals in 28 games. It makes for a goal every 4.6 matches, not a bad return for even a central midfielder.When the 58-year-old moved to Drengene fra Vestegnen in 1987, he bagged two goals in his inaugural campaign.

He never scored again in Denmark, while he scored on a single occasion for the Red Devils. During a UEFA Cup match against Rotor Volgograd at Old Trafford in September 1995, Schmeichel scored what turned out to be a consolation late in the game.

He made it 2–2 in injury time, but United were eliminated on away goals rule anyway.He scored a last professional career goal for Aston Villa in his only season there, the 2001-02 campaign.
