Manchester United to drop Harry Maguire due to the defender’s poor form.Maguire once again faced huge criticism following his performance in the 1-0 defeat at Everton on Saturday.
The £80million centre-back had the cruel luck of Anthony Gordon’s strike deflecting off him and going in beyond goalkeeper David de Gea for the goal. And with Maguire’s form at an all-time low after several high-profile mistakes this season, club legend Vidic believes the England star would benefit from being kept out of the limelight for a period.
The Serbian ex-defender, who made 300 appearance for the Red Devils, insists Maguire should only play “easy” matches.Vidic told The Athletic: “Every player has a problem with form at some time in his career, I did and it's clear that Maguire is not at his best this season.
I think you can do a few things and one of them is not to play every match as you try to find form again and get confidence.“A coach could play him in easier games, not that there are many in the Premier League, and take him out for harder matches.
