Man charged with murder and attempted murder over 'double stabbing' death of beautician mum in Wigan

manchestereveningnews.co.ukA man has been charged in connection with the murder of a woman and the attempted murder of a man in Wigan. Melissa Belshaw, 32, suffered 'catastrophic injuries' and died after she was stabbed at her house on Upholland Road in Billinge on Wednesday afternoon.
Andrew Wadsworth, 36, of Cranfield Road in Wigan has been charged with murder, attempted murder, threats to kill, possession of a bladed article and two counts of assaulting police officers.
He remains in custody and appeared before Wigan Magistrates Court this morning (May 22). He is also due to appear at Manchester Crown Court Crown Square on May 26.
