A 36-year-old man has been charged with the murder of a beautician stabbed to death outside her home. Melissa Belshaw, 32, was attacked in front of her 13-year-old daughter in Wigan, Greater Manchester, on Wednesday.
She was pronounced dead at the scene despite the efforts of paramedics. On Friday Andrew Wadsworth, from Wigan, appeared at Manchester Magistrates' Court accused of murder, attempted murder, threats to kill, threatening a person with a knife and assaulting two police officers.
He was remanded in custody and will appear at Manchester Crown Court Crown Square on May 26. On Thursday, officers from Greater Manchester Police said two men had tried to stop the attack with one of the being stabbed.
