A lonely pensioner who put up a poster asking for friends following his wife's death has received thousands of offers of support.
Tony Williams, 75, says he felt "cursed" by loneliness following the sudden death of wife Jo, 75, in May. He decided to advertise for a friend earlier in his window and has now been inundated with calls and emails.
Tony has been contacted by people from as far away as America, Germany, Holland, Australia, Egypt, India and Japan. But the retired physicist also plans to accept offers from local well-wishers.
