Huge reality TV star quits Celeb SAS after just 32 minutes
Channel 4 is billing this as the toughest series yet of their brutal reality show Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins – and the condition of the stars on their flights home from New Zealand suggests they are spot on! Journalist Rachel Johnson, sister of former Prime Minister Boris Johnson, was nursing a broken rib after abseiling down the side of a dam and had skin that was black and blue. TV presenter Cherry Healey says she looked like a pin cushion when she took her clothes off and comedian Shazia Mirza was covered from head to toe in bruises. The remaining 12 celebrities all suffered injuries of one sort or another – even the one who quit the show after a single challenge and just 32 minutes at base camp! Geordie Shore’s Marnie Simpson admits, “I don’t think I realised just how tough it was going to be – I think I was being a bit delusional.” Shazia adds, “There’s being fit by swimming every day and lifting weights every day which is what I did in preparation for the series, and there’s being fit enough for the SAS.The two are totally different.” The group of 15 celebrities who take part in a condensed but intense version of a proper SAS selection course also includes former Dr Who actor John Barrowman, TOWIE’s Bobby Norris, ex-England rugby captain Chris Robshaw, DJ and reality TV star Bianca Gascoigne and Love Islander Georgia Harrison.
