Lewis Hamilton confused by F1 point-scoring system after landing just one point in Saudi GP

Lewis Hamilton clearly isn't used to finishing too far down the field with the seven-time world champion confused over whether he'd scored any points in Saudi Arabia.Hamilton, 37, eventually crossed the line in 10th place after a rollercoaster weekend for the Mercedes man.

Disaster struck in qualifying when he was eliminated in Q1, meaning he was set to start Sunday's race 16th on the grid.It was the first time he had been eliminated in the first part of qualifying on pure pace since 2009.

An accident to Haas driver Mick Schumacher ruled him out the race and elevated the F1 icon to 15th, and he appeared to be well on the way to ensuring another damage limitation job as he rose to sixth place in the closing stages.However, a safety car then scuppered his strategy, meaning an impromptu pit stop.

He re-emerged in 12th place, but did manage to overtakes to creep into the top ten.It meant he left the Jeddah Street Circuit with a just a single point to add to the 15 he claimed from his podium place in Bahrain.
