Join thousands of others who have signed up for the Daily Record newsletter.A Larkhall chef affectionately known as ‘Mr T’ has received a personal thank you from the Prime Minister for his work during the coronavirus outbreak.Tuoyo Ayiku, originally of Nigeria, has been cooking up a storm in the town and has so far cooked and delivered over 5000 meals for vulnerable people in the community during the pandemic, earning him Boris Johnson’s Points of Light award.‘Mr T’ runs the ‘Heart In The Community Cafe’, a social enterprise which champions those who are vulnerable in the local community, including a pay-what-you-can box, to help them access healthy and hearty African cuisine.Since lockdown, with the cafe closed, he has transformed his work.
