Lanarkshire council confirm no action to be taken on 'danger' road

South Lanarkshire Council have claimed that no further safety measures are needed for a Rutherglen road that locals say is a danger - despite admitting that speeding motorists are a problem there.

Earlier this year a 10-year-old boy was injured after being struck by a car on Fernhill Road, prompting residents there to renew calls for traffic lights to be installed there.

They have insisted for years that the road is plagued by speeding motorists and that further accidents are likely.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
