KRIS Marshall has claimed he left Death In Paradise after four years because his son was ‘becoming too Caribbean’. The 47-year-old actor played lead detective DI Humphrey Goodman in the hit BBC series from 2013 to 2017.
The show is filmed on the island of Guadeloupe and Kris took wife Hannah and children Thomas and Elsie with him each season for the long months of filming.
But speaking to Lorraine Kelly on her ITV show, Kris revealed: "Well the thing is, after doing four great years on Guadeloupe, the island where we filmed Death in Paradise, I realised I really had to get my son to school." He added: "He was becoming a bit too Caribbean… He refused to wear shoes, he would only drink coconut water and eat pineapple.
