Kate and William set to ‘inherit’ Windsor Castle as it’s ‘too noisy’ for Charles

Kate Middleton and Prince William are set to inherit Windsor Castle when Prince Charles becomes King, new reports suggest.The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge could take over the world’s oldest and largest occupied castle when the Prince of Wales is King.According to the Daily Mail, when Charles becomes King, he intends to move into Buckingham Palace and it will effectively be his “flat above the shop”.The heir to the throne reportedly finds Windsor Castle to be “too noisy” due to its location under Heathrow Airport’s flight path.The Cambridges on the other hand, who currently reside at Kensington Palace and also spend some time at Anmer Hall in Norfolk, will instead inherit the castle in Berkshire.The pair however are expected to keep Kensington Palace as their domestic and work base.

According to the Mail, Kate and William have also been looking for senior schools for Prince George and Princess Charlotte in West London.

It has long been speculated that the Cambridges could move to Windsor with the Daily Telegraph reporting a move to suburbia for the family "makes total sense". However, the publication said it reportedly left members of their London circle “aghast” by eyeing up a move to Berkshire.

Last year it was reported that Kate and William were “seriously considering” relocating to Windsor to be closer to the Queen and royal decision making.
