Judy Murray backs NHS cleaner who feels 'stabbed in back' by UK Government

Judy Murray is among a raft of celebrities and politicians to back an NHS cleaner who says he has been 'betrayed' by the UK Government.

Hassan Akkad, originally from Syria, spoke out after learning migrant workers will not be included in the Tory bereavement scheme.

Porters, cleaners and social care staff working for NHS England are not included in the Home Office scheme which grants the families of health workers indefinite leave to stay in the UK if they die of coronavirus.

It has not been announced yet whether similar schemes being introduced in the rest of the UK will be based on the same criteria.
