Residents at sheltered housing units in North Ayrshire have been given the green light to mix in communal lounges for the first time since the initial coronavirus pandemic lockdown.
The social rooms have been out of bounds since March last year as part of a cautious approach to protect residents from Covid-19.But bosses this week announced they can safely reopen having closely monitored ongoing data surrounding the virus.Councillor Jim Montgomerie, cabinet member for Green New Deal and sustainability, said: “We know how much residents enjoy each other’s company and have been looking forward to the opportunity to meet again in larger groups.“We have been considering how to safely reopen the communal lounges for some time and have been
