Jose Mourinho has left fans in hysterics after smashing his head on the dugout during AS Roma's Serie A clash with Sampdoria.Mourinho's stunning return to Italy - over a decade after his historic treble with Inter Milan - hasn't been particularly successful.

The 59-year-old has struggled to live up to lofty expectations, with Roma slumped outside the top-six in Serie A prior to Sunday's clash.Roma were expected to be challenging for a top-four finish after Mourinho was given the top job last summer, and the wily Portuguese coach has come under increased pressure in recent months.

Fortunately for Mourinho, his side managed to ease that pressure by pinching a 1-0 win on Sunday - but it came at a price for the ex-Chelsea chief.Roma's new boss was caught on camera painfully banging his head on the top of the dugout as he attempted to charge out of his technical area during Sunday's clash.

And unsurprisingly, fans flocked to social media to make light of Mourinho's comical mishap. One cheeky tweeter quipped: "Surprised he didn’t go down looking for a pen," while another fan who was watching the game took a swipe at Mourinho with his reaction, tweeting: "Surprised he’s not asking the 4th official for a booking to be handed out for that".Would you like to see Mourinho return to the Premier League in the future?
