Top jockey Ryan Moore suffered a dramatic fall at Windsor on the night racegoers made their return to the track. The rider, who had earlier celebrated a double on the card, came off Aplomb just before the winning post in the Fitzdares Royal Windsor Sprint Series Qualifier Handicap (7.20).
The 6-4 favourite was set to take third, behind the 4-1 winner Punchbowl Flyer, when he lost his footing and came down. Moore was fired into the turf in the incident, which drew gasps from the crowd, but thankfully he rose to his feet immediately afterwards.
Aplomb was caught and the on-course spokesperson for trainer Jane Chapple-Hyam confirmed the gelding was also unscatched. An inspection was held before the sixth race, the Eddy May Centenary Maiden
