A former UK police detective now involved in the search for missing teen Jay Slater has suggested that the young apprentice bricklayer was frightened when he vanished from his holiday accommodation.
Mark Williams-Thomas, a renowned journalist known for his work on high-profile disappearances and his Netflix show The Investigator, shared insights on Wednesday about Jay's last confirmed whereabouts.
He explained that Jay, 19, had expressed reluctance to return to the villa, which was scrutinised by Spanish authorities who were seen wearing forensic footwear at the property on Tuesday.
The ex-cop added that the teenager had boasted on Snapchat of taking a £12,000 Rolex from an unknown person, saying: "Friends of Jay say he would not make this up." Jay had been staying at Casa Abuela Tina with two older British men and was last spotted departing the whitewashed property early on June 17.
