The body found by a mountain rescue team in Tenerife is British teenager Jay Slater, a court spokesperson has confirmed. The spokesperson said fingerprints examined in a post-mortem had confirmed the body is that of the 19-year-old from Lancashire, Sky News reports.
The spokesperson added that the injuries suffered were compatible 'with a fall from a cliff'. Members of a mountain rescue team from the Spanish Civil Guard discovered the body near the village of Masca yesterday (July 15).

The apprentice bricklayer had been partying in Papagayo nightclub the night before he vanished. Following the rave, Jay travelled more than 30km north to a remote Airbnb in the village of Masca, before leaving on foot into the Rural Parc de Teno.
