Good Morning Britain's Susanna Reid has issued a caution to viewers during Monday's programme, advising them to "be careful" due to the treacherous conditions.This warning comes as parts of England are placed under an amber weather alert for heavy rain by the Met Office, which suggests that some areas could see rainfall exceeding the average for an entire month, all within Monday.During the broadcast, 53 year old Susanna remarked: "Be careful out there this morning, the roads are liker rivers in some areas!" Her fellow presenter Richard Madeley chimed in with his own experience, saying: "Driving around the North Circular in London this morning was like driving under water it was extraordinary, sheets of water across the carriage way."The Environment Agency has also issued a warning about 'significant' flooding risks for Monday in various English regions.
Flood duty manager Sarah Cook highlighted the potential for "persistent heavy rain and thunderstorms" to cause property damage and disrupt travel.
Sarah elaborated: "Persistent heavy rain and thunderstorms could lead to significant surface water flooding on Monday across parts of England.
The impacts could include localised flooding in urban areas and fast-responding catchments, including some property flooding as well as travel disruption."She added: "The risk from river flooding remains low.
