Graham Norton Show is back with the 30th series of the show returning to BBC One tonight, Friday September 30.The long-running talk show has featured an array of hugely famous faces over the years, including Lady Gaga, Miriam Margolyes, Mark Wahlberg and many more.The show has led to some very memorable moments with quick-witted host Graham getting some hilarious and outrageous anecdotes out of his guests.But while conversations on the iconic red sofa usually appear to flow very naturally, a lot of planning actually goes into each show.As the latest series of The Graham Norton Show kicks off, here's whether it's scripted and if the guests know about the questions they'll be asked.While guests on the Graham Norton show don't have a script to read from, a lot of planning and preparation goes into each show, including rehearsals of conversations and anecdotes every single week.In an interview for Televisual, series producer Jon Magnusson revealed what goes on behind the scenes.He said: "We spend most of our time before the show on research, getting a sense of how they are going to work together and interact with Graham."Jon revealed that lots of the conversations that happen on the show are already pre-planned, saying: "We have already rehearsed through everything – including possible anecdotes, conversations, digressions and bits of business – with the researchers or producers sitting in for the guests."However, the guests aren't part of the rehearsals themselves as they "tend to be in their dressing room until they come down".The celebrities aren't told what to say on the show, instead Graham directs the conversation with his questions and anecdotes with Jon revealing: "What is most important is for guests to relax, talk,.
