Veteran character actor Michael Kopsa, best known for his stints on The X-Files, Smallville, and Stargate SG-1, died at the age of 66 Sunday from a brain tumor, his ex-wife Lucia Frangione announced Tuesday.'The great Michael Kopsa, my dear friend and the father of my child, Nora, passed away Oct 23 2022 of a brain tumour,' Frangione said.She continued:  'He was an incredible stage and screen actor, voice actor, carpenter, musician and painter.

Most importantly, he was a loving and richly present father.' The latest: Veteran character actor Michael Kopsa, best known for his stints on The X-Files, Smallville, and Stargate SG-1, died at the age of 66 Sunday from a brain tumorKopsa was born in Toronto on January 22, 1956, and relocated to the New York to study his craft at the Circle in the Square Theatre School in a four-year stint that ended in 1984.Kopsa subsequently relocated to Canada to complete his education at the University of Toronto, where he earned an arts and science degree.

Kopsa portrayed Rick Culver on The X-Files and General Kerrigan on Stargate SG-1. He worked on a number of TV productions based in Vancouver or Toronto, such as Fringe, The Net, Dead Zone and The Sentinel.Kopsa appeared in multiple films for Hallmark, such as It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas, Love in Winterland, Marrying Father Christmas and Valentine in the Vineyard.

His ex-wife Lucia Frangione announced the sad news in a tweet on Tuesday The veteran entertainer was seen in a selfie in 2019  Kopsa had amassed a total of 227 performance credits in his career Hallmark posted a memorial to its Instagram account, saying, 'A friend and colleague to many, today we honor the legacy of Michael Kopska.
