he Halo Code - the first Black hair code in the UK to protect against hair discrimination - was introduced yesterday, and that huge employers like Unilever UK have already signed up to it, I breathed a sigh of relief.

It’s been a long time coming.The code will protect employees and students who wear their natural hair and cultural hairstyles against discrimination, ‘guaranteeing them the freedom and security to wear hairstyles without restriction or judgement.’ While race-based discrimination has been illegal for 10 years, it still frequently flies under the radar.
