If previously the only nature I noticed were the weeds growing through the cracks in pavements or the flies and pigeons hovering around public bins, now I feel like a sort of Debenhams version of David Attenborough, walking around and pointing out animals and flowers that have always been there – I’ve just been too blinded and deafened by the whirr of traffic and people to see or hear them. ‘Look!’ I say to my daughter as we go on our daily walk. ‘A bird of some description!
