Arsenal transfer target Jonathan David will cost between £38million and £46m if he is to be prised out of Lille, according to reports. The Canadian striker has emerged as a target for Mikel Arteta’s side after a spectacular season for the defending Ligue 1 champions. He has already racked up an impressive 12 league goal in 26 appearances for the French giants, as well as three Champions League goals in seven matches.

Arsenal have been linked with a striker ever since the January transfer window when their long pursuit of Dusan Vlahovic ended in the striker moving from Fiorentina to Juventus. But with the Gunners’ interest supposedly now lying in David, the 22-year-old striker is purportedly keen on a departure from Joselyn Gourvennec’s side.According to Sky Sports, David wants to depart the club he joined in the summer of 2019 from Belgian side Gent.

Lille are reported to have placed a price-tag of around £38m and £46m on the 22-year-old’s head. While this is significantly less than the £58m Juventus paid for Vlahovic, it is still a sizeable price-tag for the player. Do you think Arsenal should pay £46million for Jonathan David?

Let us know in the commentsIt is also claimed David will only be interested in a move to a club who can provide him with Champions League football next season. The Gunners are currently in sixth position, two points away from the Champions League places, but with three games in hand on fourth placed Manchester United.
