Huge fall in UK's coronavirus daily deaths as government confirms 596 more fatalities

That's a drop of 292 deaths on the figures released by the Department of Health and Social Care the day before. Government stats showed that 16,060 patients have died in hospital after testing positive for coronavirus in the UK as of 5pm on Saturday, the government said, up by 596 from 15,464 the day before.
NHS England has confirmed a further 482 deaths from coronavirus, a large drop on yesterday's figures across the country when 784 deaths were reported.
