When salons do open in the UK, ‘it may take 16-18 months to get back to normal’, says industry leader Hair salons in the UK have been closed since March 24, and although many hairdressers across Europe have begun cautiously opening their doors to clients again, there is no firm date as to when salons in the UK can open.

It is expected that the UK may follow a similar timeline to Ireland, who on Friday announced that beauty salons, hairdressers and barbers will open as late as July 20 - due to hair salons posing a “higher risk service involving direct physical contact for periods of time between people,” said the Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar.
