Hotel housing plan in Fenwick withdrawn following M77 noise concerns

Fenwick premises has been withdrawn after a warning over the noise from the nearby motorway.Fenwick Hotel owner Henry Fitzsimmons had sought to use his venue's overspill car park for the development of four new detached homes – to be built at the road entrance to the hotel on Kilmaurs Road.East Ayrshire Council's environmental health service warned that they would object unless further work was undertaken to mitigate the noise coming from the M77.In a report to planners, the service stated: "The applicant should also be aware that the proposed dwelling houses are likely to be significantly affected by noise impacts from the nearby M77 motorway."The environmental health service would wish to object to the proposals unless the applicant can.
